We want Nigeria to be as good as UK

We blame Buhari for the recession
Well keep blaming and complaining. Nigerians complain about everything even sunshine which mind you is not available in UK. If you want uninterrupted sun, you go and pay for Solarium to get man made sun or if you're cold you pay for heating at around N1500-2000 a day and uninterrupted power?? Thats about N1500-3000 a day and its all taxed too.
The person to blame is you with your cultural affect and learned expectations that govt is a provider and not an enforcer
Abroad they tax us to the teeth to make money to keep economy alive
National insurance contributions ensure we contribute for healthcare, school and federal roads and infrastructure
Income tax boosts the treasury
Council tax pays for our waste, police, fire and road maintenance
Water rates support our municipal water
Road tax offsets emission and pays for roads, the older your car, the more tax you pay
Car insurance ensures indemnifying for accidents is taken care of
Tv licence pays for our tv programs
value added tax and import duties cover some of our other costs
Corporation tax and corporation national insurance pay for health and workers incapacity and maternity statutory pay
Mandatory tax led employer pension contributions cover pension boosts etc etc
We pay tax on inheritance of anything
We pay tax on bank balances apart from the income tax we pay
We pay tax on Interest earned on investments
We pay tax for "premium goods" such as sugar tax, alcohol tax, insurance tax, tobacco tax, household goods tax and more
We pay tax for water supplies, gas supplies and electricity supplies
As if that's not enough If the coffers aren't earning enough
All taxes increase with ripple effect e.g.
VAT goes up eg one time VAT shot to 20% from 17.5 and
income tax goes up
Inheritance tax rises
Interest rates on existing bank loans and credit cards spike up higher.
Social security benefits ie treatments for healthcare, community facilities are cut(such as reducing how often the rubbish is collected or how much assistance is given to the unemployed, sick or old is cut drastically.)
The government NEVER actually asks us before they increase these taxes because we pay majority without choice out of paypacket and or by instant debit monthly, quarterly or yearly.
The UK has no oilblocs comparable to Nigeria
No random income from natural resources
What's more we have no oil subsidy or subsidised anything.
If you want subsidy, you'll shop at Costco, scan shopping apps to find out where to buy cheapest milk and regularly sift through the poundland stores to see if there is anything there you can buy for £1 where other superstores sell it for more.
In fact many of us have to buy "preloved" household goods or we buy and pay later with interest rates around 17-29% APR
We then have cable, broadband and health insurance + health insurance premium tax to pay.
If you enter one chance park your car anyhow in front of your own house sef they can tow your car , clamp it or traffic warden will give you ticket ranging £40-200
If you drive without seatbelt, use mobile or speed na fine, no ordinary fine o because they collect evidence with camera so u cannot dispute fako. £100-250
If you don't pay your tax, or file late or miss the date by one day alone they fine you £150-1500 unless you are dying or dead they will collect. In fact if you die they will sell your property to collect.
If dead body is not claimed, they will cremate it and store your ashes for your dead body owner.
We COMPLY and ACCEPT all levies and all sanctions and increased tax rates and we don't go and be checking whether our PM flew to katannuga ten times last week or even what type of watch his wife wears or what she said on radio or who did what and imagine that will help us. We tighten our belts and for many people we take a 2nd job such as taxi driving or security or cleaning or even ma sef shop shelf stacking or we cut back on everything including food.
We jejely waka and pray they don't introduce air tax because we need to breathe.
And some people will be carrying microphone and announcing that change is bad we want ðŸ‡³ðŸ‡¬ Nigeria to be like ðŸ‡¬ðŸ‡§ UK
They will be saying change for good is bad. Govt must spend what it doesn't have and inflate the value of our currency so you can shop here in ðŸ‡¬ðŸ‡§ UK but you never pay the tax we pay so it feels like heaven to you.
Without changing our attitude and embracing economic sanctions and implementing your own SAP (structural adjustment programme)
😒
Like really??!!
You stupeed?? Na beans??
Don't worry, don't change. Buhari is to blame abi?
